Premier League matchday four is done and dusted. The top three remain the same because Liverpool, Chelsea, and Watford won their fourth matches. Manchester City completes the temporary top four but Tottenham Hotspurs is only one point behind. Manchester United and Arsenal also scrapped positive results for their fans away from home against Burnley and Cardiff City. All European Leagues now break for two weeks to pave way for the first international break after the World Cup. Today, we want to look at a special group of players who impressed in the Premier League last weekend.
5. Aubameyang & Lacazette- Arsenal
Arsenal registered their second Premier League victory away against newly promoted side Cardiff City. The five-goal thriller was entertaining for the fans around the World. However, it is the Gunners who went home happy with the outcome because they won 3-2. Unai Emery will be particularly pleased with how his two forwards Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette linked up upfront. Both scored the second and third goals to secure the points. It is a combination the fans will certainly want to see more going forward.
4. Mane and Firmino- Liverpool
Liverpool perfect start to the new season continued last weekend with a 2-1 win away against a strong Leicester City side. The Reds were 1-0 in the 10th minute thanks to yet another goal by Sadio Mane. This is the fourth goal for the Senegalese in four matches played. Roberto Firmino opened his account this season with a crucial goal in the 45th minute to secure all three points for Jurgen Klopp side. Alisson Becker howler in the second half gifted the Foxes an easy goal in the 63rd minute but the visitors held on to go top with 12 points.
3. Eden Hazard- Chelsea
Chelsea is enjoying a great start to the new season under new boss Maurizio Sarri. The Blues have not lost a single game so far. Last season, they thrashed Bournemouth 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to go joint top with 12 points out of 12. The goals were scored by second-half substitute Pedro and Eden Hazard. The Belgian was unstoppable once again this season. He was making things happen for the home side. The good news for the fans is that the transfer window is now closed. Real Madrid ended their interest in him which means he can now concentrate on his game.
