Wayne Rooney becomes Manchester United’s record goalscorer in Europe after netting his 39th strike for the club in all European competitions.
“It’s a great feeling to score goals and to score goals for this club. I’m pleased and I’m sure there’s plenty more to come. I’m happy with the win first of all but also with the goal.’’ Rooney said.
- The England International opened the scoring as the Red Devils recorded a convincing 4-0 Europa League win over Feyenoord at Old Trafford.
- His strike against the Dutch side was his 248th for United, just one short of Sir Bobby Charlton’s long-standing total of 249.
- Jose Mourinho’s side only need a draw in their last Group A match against Zorya Luhansk to guarantee progression to the last 32.
