Football is the most popular game in the World. We wake up every day to watch our favorite teams fight to retain or win silverware in a number of competitions. We celebrate and party when our teams lift the titles regardless of our location or race.

However, things are not always the same when our teams fail when it matters. This can lead to serious repercussions on and off the pitch for both players and fans. Today, we take a look at those bad days in football office  that most of wish could go away.

7. Arsenal 2-1 League Cup defeat to Birmingham City

2011 was certainly not a good year for Arsenal. It is the same year they lost 8-2 to Manchester United at Old Trafford but earlier that year in February, even a bigger blow had torn the Gunners camp apart.

League Cup final at Wembley Stadium, Arsenal as you would expect were the favourites against relegation threatened Birmingham City. The underdogs scored first through Zigic but Robin Van Persie leveled it.

In the last seconds of the match, when everybody expected extra-time Gunners win, a calamitous mix up between young goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and defender Laurent Koscielny gave Rubin Kazan loanee Obafemi Martins an opportunity to win his team their first ever trophy since 1963. Am sure you are yet to come across a Gooner who likes this story.

6. Gerrard slip against Chelsea in 2014

This might not be a record as such but the result of that slip is what will haunt Liverpool as a club and one man in particular in the name of Steven Gerrard forever.

The match against Chlesea came in 2014 when the Reds were looking like title favourites. Brendan Rogers Suarez inspired side had gone for 11 matches unbeaten and so it was one more win and the title was within reach. Then this happened, at the end of first half, Gerrard slipped while receiving a pass and Demba Ba took full advantage. He scored for the Blues and the Reds never got back in the game.

Willian scored the second later in the game and the title was gone. Manchester City won their game in hand later and Etihad celebrated their second league crown in five years. Gerrard has won all titles available in club level including the Champions League but the league is a bad miss for him.

Tottenham Hotspurs is the only team in the Premier League yet to lose a single match so far this season. They have not sign stars like Manchester United but they are ahead of them in the table.
