Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has rebuffed all reports claiming that Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has committed mistakes in the Champions League final because he was suffering from a concussion.
Karius endured a terrible display on 26 May as Liverpool suffered a 3-1 defeat against Real Madrid in Kiev.
The German shot-stopper collided with Sergio Ramos earlier in the second half before making two blunders which cost the team.
After one week and three days, further check-ups were made and medical staff in Boston claimed that Karius had suffered a concussion during the game before conceding goals.

After visiting a doctor in America, it has been discovered that Loris Karius did infact suffer a concussion from a clash with Sergio Ramos only minutes before he made his 2 errors leading to the goals. Personally I dont believe he can fully blame the concussion for the mistakes. I believe that maybe the pressure of a Champions League final may have gotten to him, aswell as the concussion of course! #loriskarius #karius #liverpoolfc #liverpool #championsleague #cl #sergioramos #ramos #goalkeeper #cleansheet
However, Courtois is questioning how Karius’ concussion is being blamed for his mistakes.
“It happened to me with Alexis Sanchez — I had a concussion and I couldn’t see the ball, so after 20 minutes I went out of the game because I couldn’t see the ball,” Courtois said.
“‘I feel sorry for what happened with him. But to blame it on concussion that he made those mistakes — he also made two amazing saves. So that was luck then? I don’t know because he couldn’t see the ball.
“It’s unfortunate for him to have made those mistakes. But if you have a concussion you will leave the game or the doctors will tell you, ‘Look, you cannot see clearly anymore, you must leave the game’.
“If they want to say it’s because of that, it’s OK. He said after the game he made two mistakes, I think everyone will accept that.
“It can happen as a goalkeeper but to blame it on a concussion now, I find it strange. But if medics say that from Boston, it’s OK.”
