For some people, love comes at the first sight. Well, for some others, it has to wait for years to become LOVE! The more you spend time with someone, the deeper you fall in LOVE with them. How did Stephen Curry find the LOVE of his life? Here’s Steph Curry And Ayesha Curry’s Love Story.

8. They first met in a church youth group but it wasn’t LOVE at the first sight

Steph and Ayesha met when they were teenagers in a church youth group in small-town North Carolina. But it wasn’t the love at first sight for the basketball star and Ayesha. “We were just kids,” Ayesha said.

“He was the cute boy at church that all of the girls were obsessed with, so I made a generalization that maybe he wasn’t for me.” “I don’t remember the exact first day I saw her,” Steph added, jokingly, “There was no wind blowing in her face with a backlight.”

7. The pair reconnected years later

Having led his team to the Elite 8 in the 2008 March Madness tournament, Steph was already starting to make a name for himself in the sports world.

Ayesha turned him down at first, as she had no interest in athletes because they are arrogant. Therefore, Steph contacted her via Facebook and asked her to hang out. Ayesha finally agreed to go out with him after he reached out on Facebook.

Their first date was in Hollywood Boulevard where they drank chai tea lattes and took pictures. The young girl had picked her future husband in her ’95 Astro van. Steph spent all the money he had to impress her, buying her a pair of Oakley sunglasses. However, Ayesha did not like it, as it was the opposite of what she thought he was going to be.

Days after dating, Ayesha felt some rejection of her own. “I told him I loved him first and he said, ‘I feel like I love you too, but I don’t want to say it unless I’m sure because I just want to be sure that when I say it, I really mean it,’” she said. “I had to get in my car and drive home, I was crying.”

3. Stephen Curry said it back on Christmas family reunion

A few months later, while they were with both of their families over Christmas, Curry finally said it back. “We were watching a movie and he turned to my ear and he said, ‘I love you!’” Ayesha recalled. And it was so special because she knew he meant it.

2. First real kiss and marriage proposal

Their real first kiss took place in the driveway of Steph parents’ house in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is the same place where he ended up asking Ayesha to marry him. Reminiscing the day, Steph said, “Yeah, it was like The Notebook. The plan was to act like we were going to a family cookout. So we pulled up to the house, and I stopped in the middle of the driveway, got down on my knee, and went into my spiel.”

1. Marriage and parenthood move

The couple got married in 2011 in their early twenties (Steph was 23 and Ayesha 22). They have since welcomed two daughters, Riley and Ryan. Steph and Ayesha Curry make one of the best couples in the NBA today. “You can have your cake and eat it too and follow your passions, have a family and be happy,” Ayesha said.
