Premier League Relegation: Who will drop into the Championship this season?

Things remain very tight at the bottom end of the Premier League table as we head closer to the business end of the campaign, several sides in real danger of relegation after twenty rounds of fixtures.

While Arsenal and Manchester City are battling it out at the top end of the Premier League table, down in the lower echelons of the division there’s a real dogfight going on. Nathan Jones’ Southampton are sitting at the foot of the league table with fifteen points to their name, while Everton – now under the guidance of Sean Dyche – are level on points with the Saints.

AFC Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers both sit just two points above the foot of the table while West Ham United, Leicester City and Leeds United sit just one point higher still, the latter having a game-in-hand over the sides around them.

With almost half the season left to play, any of these sides could theoretically save their top-flight skins although none have shown any signs that they are set for a late resurgence.

Bournemouth are the side deemed most likely to drop down to the Championship at the end of the season, the south-coast outfit having won just 4 of their 20 league outings with 11 defeats during this time. Indeed the bookmakers make the Cherries firm favourites for the drop at odds of just 1/7, leaving them firmly ahead of second favourites Everton at 1/2.

Elsewhere, current bottom side Southampton are the only other club at odds-on for the drop at a general price of 4/6 while Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest are 5/2 apiece.
