Former Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder Stefan Effenberg has revealed Premier League duo who should not be in this 2018 World Cup.

Effenberg has claimed that Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil are very lucky to still be in Germany national team.

The two players were criticised by football followers and fans for their recent World Cup matches including latest warm-up against Austria and Saudi Arabia.

Ozil has also played all 90 minutes during Germany’s 1-0 defeat to Mexico on Sunday evening as Die Mannschaft.

“Ozil and Gundogan have now been lucky that the DFB acted in this case in an inconsistent way, and not quickly.” He said.

“[Booing] is the worst thing that can happen to you. Because you’re asking yourself a lot of questions, like the value of wearing this jersey.”

Germany will face Sweden on June 23 evening at the Fisht Stadium for their second game of the 2018 World Cup.
