Real Madrid announced the sacking of Julen Lopetegui on Monday evening. The news was expected after the 5-1 El Clasico humiliation on Sunday against Barcelona. This follows a string of bad results since he took over from Zidane last summer. The Spaniard lost 6 of 14 games he managed. He drew 2 more and won only six matches. The Los Blancos are currently 9th in La Liga with 14 points, 7 behind the Catalans. Today, we want to look at six candidates Fiorentino Perez and the board is likely to consider as a replacement for Lopetegui. Club legend and Castilla coach Santiago Solari take over as an interim coach.

Real Madrid tried to sign Arsene Wenger on several occasion during his 22-year reign as Arsenal manager. The Frenchman loyalty to the Gunners was unshakable but now he is a free man. He reached UEFA Champions League final in 2006 and also helped the Emirates club lift several trophies including the Premier League. However, his final few years in London were not good. He is also 68-year-old which is probably too far for Madrid.

Joachim Low has coached Germany for the last 12 years. He was the man who guided them to World Cup success in 2014. However, the team underperformed in Russia 2018 tournament. The poor form continues today in UEFA Nations League. If Real Madrid offers him the job, he might consider it this time around. He has the pedigree and experience to deal with big egos.
4. Leonardo Jardim- ex-Monaco

Real Madrid looks like they want to develop a new generation of stars. The current team has young talented players like Ceballos, Marco Asensio, Jesus Vallejo, Martin Odegaard, Vinicius Junior, Mariano, and Nacho among others.
There is no better Coach to guide these youngsters than Leonardo Jardim. He took over at AS Monaco and promoted Kylian Mbappe, Thomas Lemar, Bernado Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Bakayoko, Anthony Martial and Fabinho. He is the perfect man for the job. He was sacked a few weeks ago due to bad results but we can’t forget he reached UEFA Champions League semi-final in 2016/17 season with this kids. He also managed to beat PSG to lift Ligue 1 title that year.
