Real Madrid have announced that left-back Theo Hernandez has joined Real Sociedad on a season-long loan.

Hernandez, who only joined the Los Blancos last summer from Atletico Madrid, is looking to recover his form after a difficult debut season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Hernandez, who signed a six-year deal with the Spanish giants, made his competitive debut on 16 August 2017.

The 20-year-old’s deal at Anoeta stadium will run until June 2019 and there is no option for purchase included in the contract.

“Real Madrid CF and Real Sociedad have agreed to the transfer of Theo Hernandez for the next season, until June 30, 2019,” the statement read on the Real Madrid website.

Before Hernandez moved to the European champions from City rivals Atletico last summer, both clubs had the pact between them of not targeting each other’s players.
