Manchester United receive huge injury boost
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his delight at Eric Bailly’s return to first-team action after the defender recovered from injury.
“So to have Eric back is good news, even though it is only for a few weeks because we know he goes to the Africa Cup of Nations very soon [in January], but at least in this busy period of Christmas we have one more option. That’s important.” Mourinho said.
- The Ivory Coast international suffered a serious knee injury while playing against Chelsea on 23 October.
- He wasn’t expected to be back until after the African Cup of Nations this January, but made a surprising return to United’s bench at Goodison Park.
- The Former Villarreal defender missed the previous eight games for the Red Devils in all competitions since he got injury.
