Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign Swedish defender Victor Lindelof

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants defensive reinforcements and has been linked with Benfica’s young Swedish stopper Victor Lindelof.

The 22-year-old has plenty of big-game experience and impressed when Benfica were narrowly knocked out by Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of last season’s Champions League.

• The dominant centre-back already has 11 caps for Sweden and started all three of their group games at Euro 2016.
• The Red Devils scouted Lindelof during Benfica’s 6-0 win over Maritimo in the Taca de Portugal on Saturday.
