Lionel Messi has rejected Barcelona’s offer of a new deal and will see out his current contract, according to Spanish sport daily Marca.
The reason for Messi’s reluctance to sign a new contract is reported to be his ongoing dispute with Spanish tax authorities. The 29-year-old joined Barcelona in 2001 at the age of 14 and has gone to become the club’s all time top scorer with 480 goals in 577 appearances so far.
