Leeds United News: Arne Slot Favourite to Take Charge

Leeds United are on the hunt for a new manager following the recent sacking of Jesse Marsch although while they are keen to secure the signature of Arne Slot, Feyenoord have other ideas.

Talks continuing

Talks are continuing today between Premier League strugglers Leeds United and Arne Slot, however his Dutch employers Feyenoord are keen to keep hold of their manager as they chase the Eredivisie title.

Substantial compensation package

Slot has made it clear that he would be happy to take charge at Elland Road despite the fact that he penned a new three-year deal with his current club last summer. This would require Leeds to pay Feyenoord a substantial compensation package although the likelihood is that they would be more than willing to do just that.

Interest from other clubs

Slot has been in charge of Feyenoord since summer 2021 and during his time there he has steered them to a third-place finish in the Dutch top-flight as well as to the final of the Europa Conference League.  It has been rumoured that another Premier League club is interested in luring Slot away from Feyenoord and numerous other European clubs have expressed a desire to land his signature.

Leading contenders

At the time of writing, the Feyenoord boss is as low as 6/4 to be appointed as next Leeds United manager, some may ahead of his perceived closest rival in the market, 4/1 shot Marcelo Gallardo. Former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo is as low as 9/2 to take the reins at Elland Road, while Andoni Iraola is a 6/1 punt.
