Jose Mourinho praised Paul Pogba’s maturity during France’s 1-0 victory over Belgium in Tuesday’s World Cup semi-final showdown.
The Blues have already booked a place in the final after a second-half header from Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti.
Pogba has contributed a lot during the game in both defence and attack. And Manchester United midfielder’s performance in St Petersburg has pleased his club manager Mourinho, who is currently a pundit at the World Cup in Russia.
“I think a very good performance by Pogba,” Mourinho told Russia Today.
“Pogba was mature, he played with maturity when he had to, to hold position and keep control of the play he did.”
“France was good at the basic things of the game. They defended well, they were compact. They scored a goal that probably Fellaini is the last man to touch it. But they score and they try to control the game, which basically they did.”
Pogba has been under pressure ahead of the World Cup as the former Juventus midfielder was criticised by many including United boss Jose Mourinho.
Pogba, who was dropped by Mourinho in some Premier League matches, remains without a goal or an assist in this summer’s World Cup.
