Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba has revealed where he would wish to play next season after speculation in the Spanish press regarding his future.
The 29-year-old has openly revealed that he would wish to stay at Barcelona forever if it was him to decide on his future.
The Spain international, whose current deal at Camp Nou is running until the summer of 2020, has been said to be on his way departing the club.
The Spaniard, who has not yet been offered a new deal, is currently with his national team at the World Cup in Russia.
“I’m very happy at Barcelona and if it depended on me, I would stay here forever,” Alba told reporters in Russia, as cited by El Mundo Deportivo.
“It depends on my level of performance and it was very good throughout last season, which was a great campaign for us.
“It depends also on the club’s decision but if it is up to me, I will not be leaving Barcelona.”
Alba, who joined the Blaugrana in 2012 from Valencia, has since gone on to make 246 appearances for the Catalan side.
