Adnan Januzaj has blamed manager Jose Mourinho to have ruined his Manchester United career during his time at Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old, who was sold to Spanish side Real Sociedad in July 2017, has insisted he still has the quality to play for the Red Devils.

Januzaj was promoted to United first team in 2013 under David Moyes but since the Scottish was sacked the Belgium international struggled to live up to his early form.

The young prodigy was sent out on loan twice under Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho as the winger went to Borussia Dortmund then to Sunderland.

Following a loan spell at Stadium of Light under his former United boss Moyes, Januzaj was sold to La Liga outfit by Mourinho last year.

However, the young forward believes he is more than good enough to still be United player despite being underrated by the Portuguese boss.

“I didn’t really get a chance because at the time he [Mourinho] probably wanted more experienced players with names,” Januzaj told Sky Sports News.

“For me, it wasn’t a problem. I had to move on and now I am happy in Spain and making a difference.”

“I always knew I had the quality to play for Manchester United. I know what I am capable of.”

“They didn’t give me a chance but it’s not a problem. I am happy in Spain and enjoying my football.”

Januzaj made 63 appearances scoring five times for United in five seasons across all competitions.
