Jose Mourinho has been advised by former Manchester United forward Garth Crooks to sign Willian from Chelsea in this summer transfer window.

The current pundit on the BBC Sport has revealed that if Mourinho wants to overtake Manchester City next season, he needs to bring the Brazilian at Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old, who joined the Blues in 2013 from Anzhi Makhachkala, has been in fine form at Stamford Bridge this season.

Mourinho is said to be a big fan of Willian, and Crooks believes that the former Shakhtar Donetsk star could be a good addition to the Old Trafford side.

“I think this lad has been Chelsea’s best player this season,” Garth Crooks told the BBC.

“He provided two assists against Southampton and has been as consistent as anyone in the Blues line-up.”

“Rumours that Manchester United have their sights set on Willian make for interesting reading.”

“Does this mean Paul Pogba or Juan Mata might be surplus to requirements? The bigger question is whether Chelsea would sell another one of their star players to United.”

“If so, Antonio Conte might as well give Mourinho the contact details of the company which engraves the Premier League trophy while he’s at it.”

Willian managed to score 44 goals in 230 appearances for Chelsea since he joined the Premier League side in 2013.
