FA Cup 2022/23 Odds: Man City Favourites to Lift Trophy

Having been dumped out of the League Cup courtesy of a 2-0 defeat against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium last month, Manchester City are favourites to win the other major domestic trophy on offer, namely the FA Cup.

Manchester City got their 2022/23 FA Cup campaign off to a blistering start with a thoroughly convincing 4-0 thrashing of Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium last month and they followed this with a 1-0 home win over Premier League leaders Arsenal in the fourth round of the competition in their last outing. With two of their main rivals out of the way, Manchester City have been installed as firm favourites to win the trophy with most bookies going 6/4 on Pep Guardiola’s men.

The Citizens have been far from convincing in domestic competition this season with points dropped in 6 of their 20 Premier League outings but when at their best, they can be utterly ruthless and Guardiola will see this competition as a chance to snatch a first piece of silverware for the season.

In the next round of the competition, Manchester City find themselves paired with Bristol City at Ashton Gate and it’s hard to see anything other than an away win in this encounter.

Manchester United are second favourites to lift the trophy in 2022/23, the Red Devils flying high in the Premier League and into the last four of the League Cup. Erik ten Hag’s men entertain West Ham United in the next round of the tournament and the bookies have them priced at a general 7/2 to go all the way.

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur are a 5/1 shot for the trophy ahead of their fifth-round meeting with either Championship side Sheffield United or National League side Wrexham.
