Derby County manager Frank Lampard has claimed that he is not going to park the bus ahead of his emotional return to Chelsea.

Lampard side will travel to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night as they set to meet in their Carabao Cup clash.

And the Blues legend has claimed that returning to his former side will be emotional.

“It will be emotional,” Lampard said.

“It’ll be nice for me to meet up with a lot of friends behind the scenes at the stadium and see 40,000 friends at the game before getting down to work mode.”

“Will we attack them? It depends on the game plan. I’ve been asked if I’ll park the bus, and by nature, my reaction to that would be, ‘No.’”

“Obviously, I know Chelsea like the back of my hand and it won’t be easy to go and play like we did in the first-half against Boro,” he added

“But we want to give a good account of ourselves and be effective with the ball when we’ve got it.”

Lampard has also revealed that he had a chat with the new Chelsea boss in the build-up to the game.

“I’ve had a conversation with him, and firstly I’m really impressed with his personality because I think that’s important,” he said.

“I liked him. You can quickly see the manager’s imprint in the way they play and that’s the testament to the hard work he’s put in.”

“They were outstanding against Manchester United and I think a lot of that got lost in what happened later in the game.”
