The former Manchester United ace has then missed out on the UEFA Best Player of the Year award that won by his former teammate Luka Modric.

Ronaldo was also dismissed in a controversial way during Juventus’ Champions League clash with Valencia last month.

Therefore, the 33-year-old now believes his decision to leave Madrid side for the Italian champions, is the main reason to miss out on the European award.

According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner thinks his former side are driving a UEFA plot against him.

Meanwhile, Palmeri told Tutto Mercato Web: “From sources close to the player filters the thesis in which the world CR7 believes: that everything starts from Real Madrid, and from the political will of Florentino to dethrone the importance of Portuguese from international hierarchies.”

“For this reason, according to what we are convinced, Real Madrid would have put pressure on the UEFA to not be awarded to Cristiano the award as best player of the season.”

“It is absolutely true that the Portuguese plane was ready to take off for Monte Carlo when the decision was made to drop everyone in the lurch and not to participate in the ceremony in protest.”

“A few weeks later came the indiscriminate expulsion in Valencia, and needless to say that Cristiano Ronaldo is convinced that this was not a coincidence. But always falls within the new policy of UEFA influenced by Real Madrid.”

Ronaldo, who is currently the Real Madrid all-time top scorer, has helped the Spanish giants to win 15 trophies including two La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies.
