Champions League 2022/23 Odds: Manchester City 13/8 Favourites for Trophy

The knockout stages of the 2022/23 Champions League get underway later this month and Manchester City remain firm favourites to lift the trophy for the first time in their history.

Manchester City have never before been crowned European champions but while they are currently playing second fiddle to Arsenal in the English top-flight, they are firm favourites to win this season’s Champions League trophy. Pep Guardiola’s men finished five points clear at the top of a tough Group G which contained Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Copenhagen and while they didn’t come through unscathed – dropping points win two of their six group outings – they are priced as low as 13/8 to go all the way this season.

Of the three other Premier League sides in the competition, Liverpool are favoured ahead of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, despite the fact that Jurgen Klopp’s men have been pretty woeful in domestic competition thus far. The Reds currently sit in ninth position in the Premier League table and are up against defending European champions Real Madrid in the next Champions League round. Liverpool are 9/1 fourth favourites – behind Man City, Bayern Munich and PSG – to go one better than last season and lift the trophy but on the back of their shaky domestic form, it’s hard to envisage them going any deeper in the competition.

2020/21 European champions Chelsea are as high as 18/1 to get their hands on their third Champions League trophy, however the Blues – like Liverpool – have been struggling on the domestic front and on that basis it’s hard to envisage them overcoming Borussia Dortmund in the last-sixteen of the tournament. Similarly, beaten 2018/19 finalists Tottenham Hotspur are also hit-and-miss in this season’s Premier League campaign and they are a general 20/1 shot for the trophy ahead of their last-sixteen clash with AC Milan later this month.
