Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has claimed that his side cannot afford Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata this summer.
The Bundesliga outfit are still looking for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replacement who left the side for Arsenal in January.
According to reports, Dortmund are considering Chelsea star Morata this summer as the right option to fill the void.
Furthermore, it was reportedly suggested that BVB are thinking to make a swap deal with U.S. forward Christian Pulisic.
“I’d still say that Morata is too expensive. Without knowing the exact sums involved.” sporting director Michael Zorc said with a smile.
And when asked if the German side could consider taking a forward on loan like they did with Michy Batshuayi last season, Zorc said: “Right now, I don’t rule out anything. Why should we limit ourselves 70 days before the window closes?”
“Right now, I have the impression that the transfer market, not only for attackers, has escaped reality a bit. High fees are demanded.”
“We must not do any crazy things. Even more so because we have players in our squad who can play that position and can score a certain number of goals, like Maximilian Philipp for instance.”
Morata, who joined Chelsea last summer from Real Madrid, has scored 15 goals in 48 appearances during his first season in the Premier League.
