The English Premier League is one of the toughest football Leagues in the World. This makes it special for any footballer with double figures in goals or assists.
Today, our focus shifts to all-time most assists in the League’s history. Take a look at 6 men ruling the assist league in history;
6. Steven Gerrard – Liverpool
PL Appearances: 504
Like Ryan Giggs did with Man Utd, Steven Gerrard played for Liverpool all his life. He dedicated everything to the club and it still bothers many that he didn’t get a Premier League medal. That aside, the former Reds Skipper assisted 99 goals in 504 matches. He officially retired from football at the end of 2016 after two seasons with US Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy. He is now 36 years.
5. Dennis Bergkamp – Arsenal
Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp assisted 94 goals in Premier League for the Gunners and is without a doubt one of the best players in the history of the club. Thierry Henry is the only player who has a better record for the London Club.
4. Wayne Rooney – Manchester United / Everton
PL Appearances: 48
Just want to say a massive thank you to everybody at @manchesterunited. Thanks to the boards over the years, the managers and coaches I've played under, the staff I've worked with, the team mates I've played alongside, and finally the amazing fans that I've been lucky enough to have played for. Thanks for the memories ❤️
Wayne Rooney has so far assisted 101 goals in 463 matches. The Everton striker broke Sir Bobby Charlton 40-year-old goal record at Manchester United to become the King of Old Trafford. The forward also broke the record held by the same man in the England ranks.
