The Guardian journalist Dominic Fifield has revealed that Mesut Ozil is challenging Arsenal manager Unai Emery with his social media posts.
Ozil’s future at the Emirates has been under scrutiny since Emery took over from Arsene Wenger in the summer.

The German playmaker has been struggling to get into the Spaniard’s side this season, having been limited to just 12 Premier League starts.
Therefore, Fifield believes the former Real Madrid ace is letting everyone know that he is fit and ready to play.

Host Neil Ashton asked on Sunday Supplement: “Just going back to Ozil, are his tweets provocative and antagonistic because his social media is, ‘Well, I’m fully fit, YaGunnersYa, can’t wait to get back on the field,’ all that kind of business.”
“That inevitably, the Arsenal supporters respond with, ‘Can’t wait to see you Mesut, etc, etc, etc’. Is he deliberately being antagonistic?”
Fifield said: “Yeh, I guess he probably is. Or his media team probably is.”
“It’s not helpful for Unai Emery but he wants to get his message out there that’s he’s available and that he’s not being picked for tactical reasons or because there’s been some kind of fallout behind the scenes.”
“He’s within his right to do that. I guess it’s not great for team spirits. I don’t think it reflects particularly well on him in terms of the Arsenal collective and them all being united.”
