Arsenal 2- 1 Southampton: Late Cazorla penalty gives Wenger dramatic win

Santi Cazorla struck from the penalty spot in the dying minutes to sneak a 2-1 victory for Arsenal in Saturday’s Premier League match against Southampton at the Emirates, with Laurent Koscielny’s overhead kick having earlier cancelled out Petr Cech’s own goal.

Southampton took the lead in the 18th minute when Petr Cech tipped a Dusan Tadic free-kick onto the underside of the bar but the ball bounced in off the Gunners keeper.

Arsenal, who handed debuts to new signings Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez, produced waves of attack in an attempt to find the equalizer on home turf and they were rewarded with a spectacular goal from Laurent Koscielny.

The Gunners looked like they were going to have to settle for a point but Cazorla won it for them after Jose Fonte was judged to have fouled Olivier Giroud.

The Result means Southampton are still searching for their first win of the campaign under new manager Claude Puel, while Arsenal, who have won their last two league fixtures, are five points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.
