European football season continues across Europe as the tough winter period starts. All other Leagues take are preparing to take a Christmas break but Premier League will carry on as usual. UEFA Champions League and Europa League final group games will be played next week. The two will also take a break until February 2019. Today, we want to recognize six most loyal players currently playing for European Clubs.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi is the most loyal footballer currently playing La Liga at the moment. The Argentine has represented the Catalan giants for 14 years, 11 months and four days since he made his debut in 2004.
The five times World Player of the Year has won all trophies available in the club level at Camp Nou. This includes 4 UEFA Champions League trophies among many others. Messi is currently 31 years old.

Ligue 1 loyalty crown belongs to AS Saint-Étienne veteran Loïc Perrin. The 33-year-old central defender has never really known any other home apart from this club. He has represented the Green Army for 15 years, five months and five days.

CSKA Moscow number one goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev has been playing football for what some fans may call eternity. The 32-year-old Russian shot-stopper has been loyal to CSKA for 15 years, 11 months and four days. This record is set to be extended for a few more years because, at his age, goalkeepers are expected to be at their prime. Therefore, we can conclude he is set to remain the most loyal player in Russia.
