Chelsea winger Willian has revealed that he is ready to forget his transfer saga and focus on his new season at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian midfielder has been strongly linked with Manchester United move since last summer and became more serious this summer.
United boss Jose Mourinho is keen to reunite with his former Chelsea player with Willian has also revealed on Tuesday that he would like to work under the Portuguese again.
Willian has started Chelsea’s goalless draw against Lyon in their final International Champions Cup match on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have ended up winning 5-4 over the Ligue 1 side on penalty shoot-out before starting their 2018-19 Premier League season.
Willian, who made his first appearance since returning from post-world cup holiday, is now excited about the new campaign.
“Of course, I am ready. I have to improve more in the physical aspect but I feel good,” Willian told reporters.
“I felt good today to play around 65 minutes, it was good for me and I am ready to play this season.”
“We have to look forward because we have a lot of games this season and we want to win titles.”
Asked what he thinks about new Blues manager Maurizio Sarri, Willian replied: “He is a great manager, he is an intelligent manager.”
“He works a lot and we will try to improve. Of course, we have just started.”
“We are right at the beginning but we can do good things this season.”
Barcelona have also said to have submitted three bids for Willian, but they were rejected by the West London side this summer.
The Blues will open their 2018-19 Premier League season on Saturday afternoon against Huddersfield at John Smith’s Stadium.
