CIES Football Observatory has released a new report detailing their value estimation for the current football stars. The research takes into consideration the age of the player, length of their contract, transfer fees, market value among others. Kylian Mbappé is the most valuable player today with a value of €218.5m. In the goalkeeper section, the story is very different. Let us see who make the top five in 2019.
5. Thibaut Courtois- €68M (R. Madrid)

Real Madrid finds themselves 10 points behind leaders Barcelona after 18 La Liga matches this season. The Los Blancos are struggling in almost all departments. It was certainly a terrible time for Thibaut Courtois to join the club.
The Belgian has shipped in a lot of goals so far this season. The critics want Kylor Navas to be reinstated in the first team. The good news for Courtois is that he has a long term deal with the club. This is one of the reasons why the 26-year-old is worth €68m.
4. Kepa Arrizabalaga- €77M (Chelsea)
Kepa Arrizabalaga has actually not struggled to settle in Premier League since he joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao last summer. The Spaniard is enjoying his time at Stamford Bridge. At a tender age of 24 years and a contract of 7 years, it is easy to see why his value has doubled in recent months. He is now worth €77m which is close to the fee the club paid for his services. He has kept 10 clean sheets in the League alone, this is the second best record so far. Let us not forget he is the World most expensive goalkeeper.
3. Marc-André ter Stegen- €98M (Barcelona)

Barcelona has two very good first team goalkeepers. Marc-André ter Stegen leads the line but any mistake can be suicidal because Jasper Cilessen is closely waiting for his chance. The German shot-stopper is currently valued at €98m. He has enjoyed an error-free run for months at Camp Nou.
