Real Madrid has lifted their 13th UEFA Champions League title after beating Liverpool 3-1 on Saturday night at the iconic NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in the Ukranian capital Kiev. The balance of the match changed when Reds best player Mohamed Salah went off injured after a nasty challenge from Sergio Ramos.
However, the biggest talking point has to be 2 costly mistakes made by Jurgen Klopp goalkeeper Loris Karius. The first gave Karim Benzema a glorious chance to open the scoring early in the second half. The second was the worst because it was a shot from 30 yards scored by Gareth Bale.
Los Blancos Captain Sergio Ramos was also criticized by fans and some pundits for deliberately hurting Mohamed Salah. Chelsea and Manchester United legends Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand differ with those blaming the Spaniard for the injury saying it was accidental.
This is what football fans and pundits said after the match;
Ramos tackle on Salah
Honestly, that was a disgrace from Sergio Ramos. He's ended @MoSalah's night, and possibly his World Cup with a cynical, horrible foul. Believe me, Ramos knew what he was doing there, dragging the arm down like that and holding. Red card all day. #UCLfinal

1. Salah deserved better
2. The foul by Ramos on Salah was not dirty. It was just really unfortunate that it caused that type of injury
3. Bale’s goal was so much more difficult than many will ever realize
4. Please remember that Karius is a human being first. Have compassion

Liverpool Goalkeeper Karius Costly Mistakes
Liverpool fans tweeting to Karius and wishing him dead,hoping his family die from cancer.
Feel so bad for him right now. People tend to forget footballers are humans after all and everyone makes mistakes. pic.twitter.com/9uDoqztFtJ

Karius had grasped his chance since regaining the No 1 spot in January but on the biggest night of his life he fell to pieces. It was horrible to watch. Buying a new keeper this summer was already on the agenda & now it's shot to the top of Klopp's shopping list.

Not a single Liverpool team-mate consoled Karius after the final whistle? Seems like only Real Madrid players did. So much for ‘you’ll never walk alone’ LOL

Oliver Kahn on Loris Karius: ''Such a night can destroy a career. I don't know what to say. You need a long time to get it out of your head. Being a goalkeeper myself, it was brutal to see.'' #UCLfinal pic.twitter.com/BvIN52ZNOL
