Other challengers are fighting even harder to dethrone the likes of Man City, Barcelona, Juventus, PSG and Bayern Munich in Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga respectively. This is a great time to look back and analyze some key historical facts. Today, we want to look at European football kings when it comes to domestic Leagues. Premier League giant Manchester United has dominated the division since 1992 with 13 crowns. However, when it comes to the European domestic success, they occupy the fifth place on the table. The English side is certainly more competitive if you compare with other four Leagues. Sir Alex Ferguson was determined to dethrone Liverpool who led the table with 18 crowns for many years. He managed to push it two more to stop at 20 but nobody has moved it further. 2017/18 season was the best for the Red Devils since the legendary manager left the club.
4. Barcelona- 25 La Liga Trophies
Barcelona lifted La Liga in 2017/18 season to make it 8 crowns in 10 seasons. However, their total tally stands at 25. This means they still need to win eight more trophies to go level with their bitter rivals Real Madrid.
3. Bayern Munich- 28 Bundesliga Trophies
Bundesliga is perhaps the only League in Europe lacking the much-needed competition at the moment. In 2017/18 season, Bayern Munich lifted their 6th consecutive League title which is a record. The Bavarians signed all top players from other local Clubs like Borussia Dortmund who used to challenge them. Now they have 28 League trophies. They occupy the third spot when it comes to most successful clubs domestically in Europe top five Leagues.
