Premier League match-day 21 will be completed tonight when Manchester City hosts Liverpool at Etihad. Pep Guardiola knows a defeat against Jurgen Klopp might mean an advantage for the Reds in the title race. The visitors know this might be their biggest test so far this season. No matter how you look at it, for neutrals, it’s going to be a massive game. Today, as we wait to be entertained by the two giants, let us look at five goalkeepers with more saves than Alisson, Kepa, and Ederson so far this season.
5. Alex McCarthy (S’ton) – 66 Saves
Alex McCarthy is a joke in the goal for @SouthamptonFC .. both goals are save-able against @mancity .. sickening for Saints there.. Hope Fraser starts next game.. better yet Sub Alex right now!! @premierleague #EPL

Southampton first-choice goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has made 66 saves so far this season. However, last weekend he conceded two terrible goals against Manchester City.

The new Coach Ralph Hasenhuttl was not impressed and he decided to turn to the third choice goalkeeper Angus Gunn on Wednesday night against Chelsea. The 28-year-old did very well to stop Eden Hazard and his teammates from scoring to earn his team a valuable draw.
4. David De Gea (Man United) – 69 Saves

Premier League reigning Golden Gloves winner David De Gea is starting to recover from a terrible start to the season. On Wednesday night, the Spaniard collected a rare clean sheet in the 2-0 win away against Newcastle United.
The shot-stopper made some crucial saves too to take his season tally to 69 so far. The club has to sort out the defense for the team to move forward. Ole Gunnar has won four matches out of four since taking over from Jose Mourinho in December.
3. Joe Hart (Burnley) – 77 Saves
2-0 Burnley! Joe Hart was clearly holding them back😂 pic.twitter.com/YHpoPcbBVQ

Burnley was looking hopeless one week ago but with two wins on the bounce, Sean Dyche camp now is smiling once again. However, Joe Hart will be a worried man in their camp.
The former Manchester City goalkeeper was dropped in the 2-0 home win against West Ham. The Coach stayed with Tom Heaton on Wednesday night in the 2-1 away win against Huddersfield. This might mean another lengthy spell on the bench despite making 77 saves for the team since the season started. It is shocking how his career has deteriorated since Pep Guardiola joined City two years ago.
