Kaka has been an inspiration for many footballers on and off the pitch. The Brazilian is the last player to win a Ballon d’Or before the rise of Messi-Ronaldo era. But in his romantic life, Kaka has had some ups and downs. Here are the top six things you didn’t know about Kaka.

6. Kaka is a devout Evangelical Christian

Kaka has inspired many footballers for his Christian way of living. He is among the leaders and devotees of Athletics of Christ. Football fans know him for removing his jersey to reveal his “I belong to Jesus” T-shirt. His favorite music genre is Gospel and his favorite book remains Bible.

The Brazilian superstar became famous under the name ‘Kaka’. But his original name is ‘Ricardo Izecson Dos Santos Leite’. His younger brother Rodrigo called him “Caca” due to his inability to pronounce “Ricardo” when they were young. It eventually evolved into Kaka. The word has no specific Portuguese translation.

4. Unlike other Brazilians, Kaka comes from a rich family

Kaka’s life could have taken a very different turn without football. Unlike many Brazilian footballers, Kaka wasn’t raised in poverty. Academics and all his needs were taken care of. His father, Bosco Izecson Pereira Leite, was an engineer, while his mother, Simone dos Santos, was a school teacher.
