The wait is almost over. FIFA World Cup 2018 is set to kick off on the 14th of June. Russia is ready to welcome the World. Final squads have been submitted. Iran has become the first country to arrive in the European nation. This simply means that before you close that door, the showdown between the hosts and Saudi Arabia will be on your screen live from the Iconic Luzhniki Stadium. Today, we continue the build-up, we want to look at the most represented Leagues according to the final squads named by national team Coaches.

5. French Ligue 1- 49 Players

France national team Coach Didier Deschamps has picked only 9 players who play their club football in Ligue 1. This means most of the stars based in the country must try and get a transfer to other top Leagues in Europe to be noticed. However, other Coaches did not have the same problem because they selected 40 players from the French top division.

4. Italian Serie A- 58 Players

Italy failed to qualify for FIFA World Cup finals for the first time in 58 years. It was one of the biggest shocks in the final stages of qualification. Sweden thrashed them 1-0 in a two-legged playoff clash to steal the last spot. However, the World will watch 58 players from Serie A in Russia. It means if the Azzurri had qualified, the number could’ve been higher than what Bundesliga has delivered.

3. German Bundesliga- 67 Players

Bundesliga is third on the list with 67 players selected by national team coaches to play for different countries in the upcoming Russia World Cup. The German League continues to grow despite Bayern Munich dominance in recent years. Joachim Loew shocked the World when he failed to select Leroy Sane in his final 23-man squad. However, the tactician decided to go with more locally based players like Julian Brandt.
