Portugal was knocked out of the World Cup by Uruguay in the last 16 on Saturday. The man of the match award went to two-goal hero Edinson Cavani. However, Pepe contribution can’t be ignored. The centre-back netted the equalizer to reignite their hopes of winning the match. However, their leaky defense caused once again and this time there was no comeback. It was the first and only goal the South Americans have conceded for more than one year.

Belgium came from 2-0 down to beat Japan 3-2 in their last 16 clash on Monday night. The win means they will play five-time winners Brazil in the quarterfinals on Friday. The story could’ve have been very different because the Asian side was threatening to spoil the party when they took a 2-0 lead in the second half. However, the Red Devils had the quality to turn the game around and they did exactly that.
The comeback was started by central defender Jan Vertonghen. The Tottenham Hotspurs man was trying to head the ball back to the six-yard area when his header looped over the goalkeeper and landed perfectly inside the net in the far post. The European side was back in the game a few minutes later thanks to another header by substitute Marouane Fellaini. The job was done in the last minute of injury time when they orchestrated an electric counterattack that was finished by Nacer Chadli. Vertonghen scored 20 points to finish top of Defender 2 category on SokkaaStars World Cup Fantasy Game. The impressive Colombia defender Yerry Mina finished second with 16 points.

Sweden booked their place in the quarter-finals thanks to a deflected goal scored by Emil Forsberg against Switzerland. RB Leipzig winger took a shot that was going directly towards the hands of goalkeeper Yann Sommer. However, on the way, center back Manuel Akanji tried to clear it and it went perfectly on the top corner. The Swedish winger got the goal because his shot was on target. The lucky goal earned him 18 points to finish top of Midfielder 1 category on SokkaaStars World Cup Fantasy game. Uruguay midfielder Bentancur (10 points) and Brazil star Philippe Coutinho (8 points) finished second and third respectively.
