CIES Football Observatory has ranked Kevin De Bruyne seventh on the list of the most expensive player by transfer value. The Belgian helped Manchester City lift 2017/18 Premier League title by assisting 16 goals. He also finished second in PFA Player of the Year award. According to some pundits, he deserved the award more than Mohamed Salah who scored 32 League goals to lift the gong.

6. Dele Alli- €171 Million

Dele Alli is the second Tottenham Hotspurs player on the list of top ten most expensive players according to CIES Football Observatory research. The 22-year-old English midfielder is valued at €171 Million. He has matured a lot since he joined the London side from MK Dons for 5 million pounds.

PFA Premier League Player of the Year Mohamed Salah is the fifth (€171.3 Million) most expensive player based on his transfer value according to CIES Football Observatory. The 25-year-old netted 44 goals in all competitions last season. The Egyptian broke scored 32 goals to break the long-standing Premier League record held by Allan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez (31). He suffered a bad injury in the final of UEFA Champions League after a bad challenge from Sergio Ramos. The Reds lost the match 3-1.

4. Lionel Messi-€184.2 Million

Lionel Messi is the best-paid footballer in the World today. The 30-year-old gets £110 million per year as compared to Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar who take home £82 million and £71 million. The Argentine is behind the Brazilian when it comes to current transfer value. The fives times World Player of the Year will cost you €184.2 million in 2018.
