Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is likely to unseat him and Lionel Messi from Ballon d’Or hot seat this year.

Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the Ballon d’Or award since 2008 as they won 5 each but the Portuguese attacker believes that Salah is a genuine contender to break their longstanding dominance.

“Salah has been one of the revelations of the year,” Ronaldo told reporters.

“I hope his injury in the final in Kiev doesn’t keep him out.”

“Many people talk about the battle for the Ballon d’Or between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi but there are other players who have a chance to enter the race. Salah is certainly one of them.”

Salah, who joined Liverpool last summer from Roma, has scored 44 goals in 52 appearances helping the Reds to reach the Champions League final.
