Real Madrid legend Ronaldo has emphasised that La Liga giants will not be able to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar this summer.

The Brazil international has moved to the Parc des Princes just last summer from Barcelona as the most expensive player ever.

The 26-year-old has been rumoured to be a primary target for Real Madrid in this summer transfer window.

However, Ronaldo – who won two La Liga titles with the Los Blancos – has confirmed that a deal is still impossible.

“Neymar? He joined PSG in a massive transfer and they do not need money,” former Brazil striker Ronaldo told Cadena Ser. “They will not be forced into any sale regardless of any offer or interest from any club, whether that is Real Madrid or somewhere else.”

“Perhaps in a few years a deal would be possible but at the moment I do not believe we are in that position. But he is still young with a big future. He enjoys Paris and he made the decision to move there recently because he wanted to change his scenery.”

Neymar scored 28 goals and provided 16 assists in 30 appearances for the Parisians in all competitions before picking up an injury in February.
