Former Premier League star Tony Cascarino has revealed that Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham could struggle in the Premier League this season due to many London derbies.
Unai Emery’s side have managed to make 11 consecutive wins but the winning streak ended by London rivals Crystal Palace during the weekend.
The Eagles captain Luka Milivojevic scored twice from the penalty spot to earn his side a 2-2 draw.
Arsenal are along with Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Tottenham, West Ham United, Fulham and Watford in and around the capital city – London.
Therefore, with the derbies’ intense atmosphere, former Chelsea striker Cascarino believes it will cost the big London clubs including the Gunners, the Blues and Spurs.
“There are seven teams in and around London, which means the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have more derby games than the rest of the big six,” Cascarino told The Times.
“Crystal Palace were good value for their point [vs Arsenal], Tottenham lost away to Watford recently and Chelsea drew with West Ham United.
“These tough tests could help dictate the final positions of the big six and in the second half of Palace’s game against Arsenal, you could tell how motivated and confident they were.
“Obviously it helps when you have Wilfried Zaha. He’s an unpredictable player to defend against and brilliant to watch.”
