Barcelona summer signing Malcom has revealed that Lionel Messi promised to help him with the Brazilian forward needs to establish at Camp Nou.

The 21-year-old was a big-money arrival from Bordeaux in the summer signing a five-year contract for a reported transfer fee of €41m plus an additional €1 million in bonuses.

The Corinthians product has since struggled for game action as the winger has made five appearances in all competitions so far this season.

According to reports, Malcom has been strongly linked with a move away from the Catalan side in January following his frustration at La Liga champions.

Arsenal has been said to be in contact with the Brazilian attacker with Unai Emery is looking to bolster his attacking options.

However, Malcom reveals Messi has promised him to be a very supportive and helper at Barca.

“A few minutes before starting the match, in the tunnel, he told me that when he gets the ball he will find me,” Malcom said.

“And he does because he’s a football alien. He’s someone who always wants the best for the group.”

“This is why he’s the captain and someone who can inspire players to give their best because coming from someone has five Ballon d’Or awards, you end up doing well and you’re motivated to do it.”

“For me, he’s the best in the world,” Malcom added.

“It’s difficult to talk about. You never know what he’s going to do because he never gives anything away so it’s difficult to know which direction he’s going to go in.”

“Simply by exchanging passes with him, I am learning so much. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to the maximum.”

Reports in Spain earlier this month suggested Malcom might push for a move if he doesn’t get more game time, but Malcom has dismissed all suggestions.

He’s hit back and insisted he will ‘continue fighting’ to succeed in La Liga.

“About news that came out here in Spain, I want to clarify this: I came to Barcelona with many objectives, and those who know me know that I am a very determined person,” Malcom wrote on his Instagram.

“I am very happy with the evolution in my career and I know and every day that passes my dreams and objectives are becoming a reality.

“My family is also adapted to the city.

“Anyway, I’m going to continue fighting for everything I want in my career.”
