French football expert Jonathan Johnson has revealed that Barcelona have agreed on a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot for free in the summer.

According to reports, La Liga giants are close to completing deals on French midfielders Adrien Rabiot and Toulouse’s Jean-Clair Todibo.

Rabiot, whose contract with the French champions runs out in the summer, has agreed to sign a five-year deal with Barca on a fee of €10m as well as a salary of just over £170,000-a-week.

“Adrian Rabiot has no future at PSG. He has told the club he doesn’t want to sign a contract extension,” Johnson told the Transfer Talk podcast.

“The club have pulled out all the stops to try and keep him and the club suspect – even though they haven’t had it confirmed – that Rabiot and his entourage, that includes his mother and agent, have been in talks with Barcelona quite some time.”

“To be perfectly honest with you, he’s somebody who doesn’t get the best advice at times.”

“His mum has come in for a lot of criticism for the way she’s very overbearing and pushy to advising him in these situations.”

“At this moment in time, it’s very difficult to sell who’s pushing this move to Barcelona more – the player or the agent.”

The 23-year-old has been at PSG since 2012 and has since made 227 appearances, scoring 24 times in all competitions.
