Real Madrid midfielder Isco has confirmed that he will not be moving to Chelsea in January but has refused to rule out the potential summer move.

The Club World Cup winners are currently struggling to replicate their last season’s performance after Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo departures.

Meanwhile, Isco had been considered as one of Ronaldo’s successors, along with Marco Asensio and Gareth Bale.

However, the expectations have been different as the Spaniard managed to score just one La Liga goal so far this season.

It was recently reported that the former Malaga star would consider a move to the Premier League in January, with Chelsea interested in his signature.

But the 26-year-old has made it clear that he is very happy and fully focussed on Real Madrid.

“I’m very excited about the new year,” Isco told Deportes Cuatro.

“I’m not going to go in the winter market, I’m very happy; of course, I want to continue with Madrid to continue winning titles.”

Isco, who joined the European champions in 2013 from Malaga, has since gone on to make 258 appearances scoring 45 goals.
