Everton legendary defender David Unsworth joins Leighton Baines in this special list of high scoring defenders. The former center back who could also play as a left-back netted 38 goals in Premier League for the Toffees and West Ham United. He was a specialist in penalties and he rarely missed. He retired in 2009 to become a Coach.
1. John Terry- 41 Goals
Chelsea legend John Terry holds the record for most Premier League goals scored by a defender. The 38-year-old netted 41 times in 492 Leagues matches for the Blues alone from 1998 to 2017. In all competitions, he scored 67 goals in 717 matches.
The legendary skipper lifted 5 EPL crowns, 5 FA Cup trophies, 3 League Cups, 1 UEFA Europa League title and 1 UEFA Champions League medal. He is no doubt one of the most complete defenders of all time. He played at the highest level for almost two decades. He now works as an assistant Coach at Aston Villa.
