The most popular sport on the planet, football stars are often world superstars or at least national stars; and as such, it is not unusual for them to have things named after them. From wine, beer, burgers, and condoms, down are football legends and things named after them.

5. Lionel Messi -Malbec Wine

Leo’s wine brand is helmed by Casa Bianchi, the Mendoza, Argentina makers of multiple labels, including the sweet and bubbly Torrontes-sauvignon blend called New Age. The 2012 Leo Malbec tastes a fair amount like every other $14 malbec on the market, but it’s not so unabashedly jammy and alcoholic like some.

4. Zlatan Ibrahimovic -Burger

French restaurateur launched a new burger called “Le Zlatan” back in 2013, in a homage to the then Paris St-Germain striker and challenged the Swede to visit the restaurant and finish the monster burger.

Jean-Philippe Grandin, the manager of Doddy’s Cafe in the Parisian suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt, said he wanted to create “an exceptional burger, which really stands out from the crowd, in the image of Zlatan Ibrahimovic”.

3. Didier Drogba -Beer (Windhoek Lager)

Windhoek Lager launched a Pan-African advertising campaign featuring Didier Drogba: celebrating the story of a beer from Africa that has grown to be loved worldwide and a man who has followed a similar journey.

With his name on it, Drogba stars in the advert for Windhoek Beer, which dramatises the hard road he has taken to become a top footballer.
