World most expensive player Neymar has made headlines across the globe for making a controversial Premier League top four predictions. The Paris Saint-Germain was criticized a few months ago for diving to win free-kicks and penalties in the just concluded Russia World Cup 2018. However, that is behind him now because he has already netted 4 goals in 5 appearances this season. The former Barcelona and Santos attacker was asked how he thinks the EPL top four will look like at the end of 2018/19 season and this is what he said.
5. Liverpool- Fifth (Europa)
Neymar has shocked many by predicting Liverpool will not even finish in the top four in Premier League this season. The Reds have won all their opening four matches to go top of the table with 12 points and only one goal conceded. When asked whether he had mistakenly forgotten compatriot Roberto Firmino team in his ranking, he said not at all because he thinks they will collapse at some point this season.
Jurgen Klopp will not even want to see this kind of prediction because he feels this is the strongest team he has put together in his career. The arrival of goalkeeper Alisson from AS Roma was seen as the last piece in the puzzle. They are favorites to lift the title this season but the Brazilian PSG attacker thinks they are just pacesetters.
4. Tottenham- Fourth
Mauricio Pochetino said last season that he wants his team to challenge Manchester City for the title in 2018/19 season. The fans were left disappointed when the club failed to strengthen the team this summer. However, a 3-0 win at Old Trafford wiped all those doubts. They are now serious contenders capable of beating any team. Harry Kane and his troops will disagree with Neymar prediction that they will finish fourth this season. It will be a disaster if they fail to deliver any silverware once again because this might lead to stars exodus.
3. Chelsea- Third
Chelsea is one of the three clubs so far with a 100% record in the Premier League so far. The Blues defeated Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge last weekend to go joint top with Liverpool and Watford. However, Maurizio Sarri and his troops will not be entirely happy that PSG star Neymar thinks all they can get is UEFA Champions League football and a third-place finish. They have the squad to challenge Manchester City for the title this season.
