The World of football is still mourning the tragic demise of Leicester City club owner billionaire Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. The Thailand businessman was accompanied by three other passengers plus the pilot. All died after the chopper burst into flames immediately after hitting the ground a few minutes after take-off from King Power Stadium pitch. 7. USA Figure Skating Team-1961

On 15th February 1961, an 18 member Figure Skating team was heading to Prague to participate in World Championship when the plane crashed in a field in Belgium killing everybody on board. All the players were killed. It was a sad day for United States figure skating fraternity.
6. Alianza Lima Football Club- 1987

On 8th December 1987, a plane carrying players and the Coaching staff of Alianza Lima Football Club of Peru crashed into the Pacific Ocean killing 16 first team players and the Coach. The team had just won 1-0 in Pucallpa to move top of the table.
5. Leicester City Helicopter Crash- 2018

All died after the chopper burst into flames immediately after hitting the ground a few minutes after take-off from King Power Stadium pitch.
The others killed in the accident include two Vichai staff members (Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare), the pilot Eric Swaffer and his partner Izabela Roza Lechowicz. It happened a few minutes after he watched a 1-1 draw between his beloved club and West Ham United.

The rich owner was popular with the fans since he bought the club. He was the man behind the club most successful year in their history when Claudio Ranieri led them to a Premier League crown in 2015/16 season. He had made many donations to the community in recent years.
4. Zambia National Team-1993

In 1993, April 27 to be precise, Zambia national team was heading to Senegal to play the hosts in a World Cup qualifier. The stopped in Libreville, the Capital of Gabon to refuel and was back in the air to continue with the journey only to crash in the Atlantic Ocean a few miles from the Capital.
A total of eighteen players and five officials were killed. The South African nation and Africa Football was in shock. The nation lost some of the very best talents. In 2012, Zambia won Africa Cup of Nations in the same Capital Libreville and they visited the crash site to dedicate the win to the fallen heroes in a very emotional occasion.
