Jose Mourinho has given an update on Manchester United forward after his side’s 1-0 win over Watford at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Anthony Martial was expected to feature United’s final Premier League game of the season, however, the Frenchman was omitted from the squad at the last minute.

Thereafter, The Portuguese manager has told MUTV that the former Monaco star has picked up a knee injury in training on Friday. And the former Chelsea boss added that the France international’s participation in Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup final is also doubtful.

Martial joins striker Romelu Lukaku on the sidelines and both will be assessed ahead of the Wembley clash against Chelsea.

The Belgium international, who was limped out of United’s 2-1 win against Arsenal on April 29, has spent time in his homeland after sustaining an ankle problem.

“Anthony, I have to wait a bit for more. It’s his knee,” Mourinho said. “He was injured in the Friday training session and yesterday [Saturday] he couldn’t train. He had treatment in the morning at the training ground and he stayed away.”

“I’m waiting for the doctor but when it’s impossible to play today, I have my doubts [for the cup final]. Let’s wait and see, also for Romelu. I know he will be back on Tuesday.”

Meanwhile, Martial has managed 11 goals and 7 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils this season.
