Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah says Jose Mourinho has what Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has told him after joining the Reds.

Salah, who moved to the Merseysiders last summer from AS Roma, has been sensational in the Premier League this season.

The Egypt international has been at Chelsea in 2014 under manager Mourinho, who sent him to Fiorentina on loan.

The 25-year-old, who had struggled to make his mark at Stamford Bridge, went on to shine at both Italian sides – Fiorentina and Roma – before returning to the Premier League.

Salah joined Liverpool last summer for an initial €42m fee that could rise to up to €50m. But the attacker has said that he has spoken with United boss Mourinho following his move.

“I did meet him twice – in our match here at Anfield [Liverpool vs Manchester United] and in the other match in Manchester,” Salah said on Egyptian TV channel ON ENT.

“He told me that he is happy with what I am doing. So, I thanked him.”

“We didn’t talk much; I just said ‘hi’ to him and he told me that he was happy for me.”

Salah was awarded the Premier League Golden Boot on Sunday after scoring 32 goals. And the former Basel star helped the Anfield side to reach the Champions League final.
