Chelsea defeat against Wolves and Arsenal draw at Old Trafford mean Tottenham Hotspurs is now third after a 3-1 win against Southampton at Wembley. Manchester United still rooted at 8th place, 8 points behind the fourth-placed team. Today, we want to recognize five best performers in the mid-week matches.

Liverpool survived an early scare away against Burnley to come from a goal down to win 3-1. The hosts went ahead through Jack Cork in the 54th minute. Jurgen Klopp made quick substitutes to swing the game in his favor.
In the 62nd minute, James Milner equalized, Firmino made it 2-1 a few minutes later and then Xherdan Shaqiri completed the job in the 91st minute. The Reds needed that win to keep the pressure on leaders Manchester City who had already won their game on Tuesday.

Maurizio Sarri honeymoon in Premier League is officially over. Chelsea fine start is now history because even Wolves have now defeated them. The game started well for the Blues with an early goal from Ruben Loftus-cheek. However, the home side fought back with an equalizer in the 59th minute from Jimenez and then a winner in the 63rd minute from Jota. It is the second defeat for Sarri in the last three matches.

Manchester City defeated Watford 2-1 on Tuesday night to remain unbeaten at the summit of the table. Pep Guardiola men could’ve scored more goals but at the end, they were forced to fight for a result.
Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez was voted Man of the Match and he fully deserved it. He assisted Leroy Sane opening goal and then scored one for himself in the 51st minute.
