Arsenal have been handed boost with the news that Jerome Boateng could miss their both Champions League clashes against Bayern Munich due to a right tendon injury.

The Bayern Munich defender picked up the problem at the end of 2016 and has had an operation to try and solve the problem.

He underwent chest surgery in December and was anticipated to miss the next stage of the season following the Bundesliga winter break.

According to Kicker, Boateng will miss both Champions League clashes against Arsenal with the first taking place in mid-February and the second in March.

Boateng has only made 12 appearances across all competitions for Bayern so far this season due to injury.
