Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has urged Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to reconsider Croatia’s World Cup star Ivan Perisic as the transfer target this summer.
Inter Milan star Perisic has seriously emerged as United target last summer but the Italian side refused to sell their winger.
Portuguese boss Mourinho is still looking to bolster his frontline as he only signed a goalkeeper, defender and midfielder this summer.
Therefore, former Scotland international Souness believes Perisic would be a perfect addition to the Red Devils’ squad next season.
“I can see why Jose Mourinho is so keen to bring the Inter Milan midfielder to Old Trafford,” Souness wrote in the Sunday Times.
“Manchester United would be a much-improved side with him in their line-up.”
“With his contribution against England when he scored one and had an assist, Perisic has now been involved in 10 goals at major tournaments for Croatia (six goals, four assists).”
“That tells you plenty about his pedigree.”
Perisic moved to San Siro in 2015 from VfL Wolfsburg and has since scored 31 goals in 118 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
